Anek is an alternative rock band formed in 2004 in Lecce, Italy. Founding members Pete Sandon, his brother Jan Sandon and their friend Dario “Rock-D” Scordari welcomed guitarist Dave Tufano later, in 2006. They become more popular in 2009 with the release of their “5439” EP and their first single, “Bella”, that aired on local radio stations and was spread through the net in several videos uploaded by fans. At the end of 2009 Jan and Dario left the band for personal reasons while Loris De Carlo joined in as the new official drummer. The new lineup wrote some new tunes and traveled to London to record 15 brand new songs, scheduled to be released with their first full-length. Unlike the original intent a new EP, "Lady of Fate", was released, while the other tracks remained hidden. At the beginning of 2012, singer Pete Sandon decided to temporary left the band and focus his attention to his family. Though Pete didn't really leave the band, Angelo Contaldo, a friend of the band, replaced him for the live performances. An unofficial 6-track EP, titled "Late Off Day", was also released featuring Angelo at the voice, who re-sung some of the previously unreleased songs that should have been in the album, to promote the live performances in that period. At the end of 2013 Pete re-joined the band and the single "Brand New Life" was released.
