Azura

It all started in the late eighties. “My mother worked at a discotheque and after the weekend she often brought mix tapes of the DJ´s with her back home.” Later Azura recorded her first own cassettes, which she is still keeping. At the same time she attended piano lessons – more than ten years Azura at least spent time twice a week in front of her instrument. But some day she was completely bored of it. “Unfortunately I did not recognise at that time how important it can be to master an instrument for my future life.” After she made excursions to other genres like every teenager does, she finally found her way back to her first love in the mid-Nineties. House was once again ubiquitous, but still an underground phenomenon. Azura wounded up in record stores to buy her first own records from her accrued pocket money. And so one came to the other. The first record player was purchased. And soon also the second was acquired. In 2003 she had the heart to show her skills for the first time in public. Ever since she made a name for herself with her distinctive intuition for music even far from her hometown. After her release with Herb LF on Sensual Touch Recordings last summer you should have noticed her at the latest. But there is still a lot more to come! Today Azura still likes best standing at her record players – even if all the other DJ´s like to deal with digital formats – she is for sure a nostalgic romanticist, yeah a real girl.
