Dubbel Dutch emerged from the 2010s post-dubstep scene as a genre-bending producer known for blending jersey club, hardcore rave, house, dancehall, techno, trance, and bassline. His sophomore release, Throwback, received acclaim from underground leaders like Bok Bok, L-Vis 1990, Kingdom, and Jamie XX. In late 2010, Dubbel Dutch released projects inspired by tribal guarachero and kuduro, through Untold’s Hemlock imprint and J-Wow’s Enchufada label. These releases further showcased his ability to blend and innovate across diverse musical landscapes. Next, he made waves with the "Hymn" EP on Mixpak in 2011, featuring “Darq,” a track that mixed UK grime with US club music. Around the same time, he also released the "Slow Club Mix" via SoundCloud—a screwed-up take on Jersey Club featuring many now well-known producers like DJ Sliink and DJ Jayhood. In 2012, Dubbel Dutch delved into instrumental dancehall and grime-inspired "riddim" experiments with "Self Help Riddims" (Mixpak). His 2013 follow-up, "Cloud Club" (Mixpak), explored bubbly pop, trance, and dancehall-inflected club music. Between 2011 and 2013, he anonymously released a series of records on Body High under the aliases DJ Funeral and DJ Soulja-Man, exploring the campy, dark side of club music and US club grime hybrids respectively. In 2014, Dubbel Dutch played a key role in producing Popcaan's debut album, "Where We Come From", alongside Mixpak's Dre Skull. He spent the following years DJing and producing for artists like Bad Gyal, Kelela, Le1f, Gaika, Cadence Weapon, and Lizzo. During this time, his solo output was limited to the "Rare Earth Tones" mix on SoundCloud—a downtempo collection of unreleased productions bridging the gap between his dancehall experiments and new directions. Dubbel Dutch stepped away from music in late 2018 only to resurface in 2024 with several new EPs including "Cosmic Tone Poems", "Pleasing Drums", and "Anthems From The Abyss". He currently has plans to release more music through his own imprint, Rare Earth Tones.
