Frankie Knuckles (1955-2014), "The Godfather of House Music," was an American DJ, producer, and remixer who pioneered house music as resident DJ at Chicago's Warehouse club (1977-82). His groundbreaking work earned him a Grammy for Remixer of the Year (1997) and Dance Music Hall of Fame induction (2005). He remixed for Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and others, while releasing albums including "Beyond The Mix" and "A New Reality." Chicago honored him with Frankie Knuckles Day and Way in 2004.
