From the deep, raw sounds of Chicago emerges an artist with roots firmly planted house music. His interest was sparked circa 1989 by artists/DJ’s such as Bad Boy Bill and Julian Perez of the famous ‘Hot Mix 5’. Always striving to bring out the emotion in all of his productions; it’s the harmonies, melodies, and beats juggling like some sort of morphing puzzle that make Josh’s creations sound unique. His current inspiration comes in part from such artists as Sven Vath, Swayzak, Technasia, and Mazi (aka Audio Soul Project). His first record was released in 1997 with Jasperstone Records. Soon after, Josh began producing tracks for various labels under Strictly Hype Recordings. He released numerous records with SHR on labels such as Flashtraxx, Sunrise, UCmusic, Afterhours, Dialogue, Colossal and Gourmet. Now with more than 80 releases out, Josh has worked with vocalists/artists like Barbara Tucker, Shawn Christopher, Ron Carroll, Byron Stingily, Mea Fisher, Stephanie Cooke, Kimara Lovelace, Rachael Starr, and Stryke. Working with a wide range of talents has broadened and at the same time focused what type of sound he is going for. He’s recently found his niche in the tech-house realm and has been releasing tracks on Hooj Choons, Nitegrooves, Grayhound, Big Chief, Matter/:Form, and Prolekult. Genres like tech-house and progressive-house have become the foundation for Josh’s work, but certainly does not limit his capabilities and goals. With full-length album goals in the horizon, we can expect a wide range of styles and sounds represented in full fashion.
