Born in Hackney East London, the concept of Highflesh originated through the couple Veronica & Robert, both passionate about underground dance music. Having moved from London’s music circuit to Sao Paulo, the pair, also better known as Lu (Sao Paulo/Brazil) & Spielkamerad (Berlin/Germany), combines more than 10 years of music research and have been clubbing for two decades. With an expansive experience in the musical scene through visiting parties in clubs, warehouses, and after hour sessions, both began to question the overall direction the London scene was taking. With the soul, sexiness and human touch of the music becoming less and less apparent on most dance floors, other parties concentrated on far different aspects opposed to what these two music aficionados considered as being key factors of this underground movement. Providing partygoers with high quality music consistently throughout the night is the couple’s main focus, and with this in mind, the core essence of Highflesh is to play only the best in electronic music at each event without haltering. Highly ambitious Lu & Spielkamerad aim to highlight the element of ‘quality’ within Highflesh by prioritizing carefully selected tracks whilst offering a diverse range of musical variety. From deep, slow, funky and melodic house tunes to up-lifting disco and intense tech-house & electro tracks, this pair aims to present a wide spectrum of electronic music with a desire to enlighten audiences with new or lesser known artists and tracks whilst providing a carefully tailored progression to each of their sets. Being able to bring Highflesh to life, it feels it is their time to create something new, exciting and special, blending a seductive combination of both underground classics and new emerging styles of house music.
