Mako

Ilya Goryachev aka Signor Mako is a musician & sound design artist. Contemporary musician & performing artist, he creates complex sound collages & ambient soundscapes, electronic music and beats. His first live project was called Orchestra Caliente - freeform vocal perfomances together with vocalist Kate Andreas. This duo studied acoustics of unusual post-industrial spaces and never recorded their sets, appealing to the precious moment of perfomance. Orchestra Caliente also produced live score for silent movie “The Navigator” with Buster Keaton. As a solo artist Ilya produced several drone & ambient albums inspired by global catastrophes & scientific futurism. In 2010 he took part in World Around festival @ Tavrichesky Garden, creating “Singing Tree” - hybryd of organic material with electronic device, a tree was “singing’ with voices of opera divas. Autumn 2010 Ilya participated in annual Paratissima/ Torino, Italy - creating an installation “Vodun Organik” - Altar made of grass, regional plants and hidden sound source with hypnotising repetitive sound. He also continues to produce bass music and ambient. As an emerging young artist, Signor Mako was selected for 2011 edition of Red Bull Music Academy Madrid. Alongside his fellow producers & beatmakers he evolved to a higher level of perception and musical language.
