DJ Orbith has been at the top of the Czech scene since 1999. At the beginning of his career he played techno and rave, but gradually he had switched to electro. Now he is considered to be not only a leading Czech DJ , but also a representative of the electro scene to the Czech audience. For his DJ sets it is his distinctive energetic mix of techno and electro together with a spontaneous performance at the decks. His career began in the Fan Favorit club in Brno where he appeared from the year 1996, regularly, each Wednesday and Friday. This lasted 'till 1998. He soon became one of the most popular DJs in Brno and within a short time he began to appear at big events like Orion Hall and Citadela. In 2000, he was taken up by a new manager and it did not take long until Orbith was found by Prague´s club scene. In 2001, he won the prize of Newcomer of the Year and 2 years later he placed 1st in the prestigeous competition Dance Awards. Since that time he has built a strong position in the Czech dance scene; he has performed in most of the clubs in CZ and major events (festivals Summer of Love, Electric Kingdom Czech, Cocoon clubbing world tour Czech) and also has appeared abroad (Mayday Hungary, M25 Poland, Nemo club Belarus). Since 2003, he has earned a residency at Elektra partyseries in Roxy Prague – nowadays this party also has a Brno edition (guests like Len Faki, Holgi Star, Jonty Skrufff and Miss Kittin) First steps into production were made in 2001 – Orbith released his first track „Fussganger“ on the Elektronik Basslines compilation. One year later another release came on the Czech label, Licker – „Fussganger rmx“ and then in 2005 he made „No Money No Love“ ( a sampler for Summer of Love with Alter Ego, Elektrochemie LK, Richie Hawtin). His latest production act is the Phantom EP (August 2006) – a record made together with his DJ-colleague Michal Poliak (released on Qrime Records). It's a 2 track EP and the main characteristic of both tracks is that they are 100% useful in the hands of any DJ at any kind of party. „Phantom Of The Club“ sounds more progressive, whilst „Harpuna“ aims towards harder tech-electro. Orbith´s focus on DJing brings him into a leading position of the Czech dance scene, he constantly performs in clubs and he is tireless regarding his work on new tracks for his next releases.
