Born in 1982 in a small Romanian industrial town, Ricky Ambilotti aka Alin Dimitriu was always surrounded by music trough his father who is a tenor and also his grand mother who was a piano teacher. Always having a piano in the house, he began playing and composing music from a very early age. At 7 years old, he vent to Bucharest to study music at the most prestigious music school in the country, where he studied with the best music teachers achieving high performances. After finishing the school he relocated in a small quiet town to have the tranquility needed to compose. In 2001, he formed the group “Contact” with 2 other musicians, Alexandra Marinescu and Dan Mardan, for an international electronic music contest (Radio France International Electro Awards) where the group was nominated for the grand prize and also included in the “RFI Electro” compilation in Romania. Mostly know for composing and licensing music for film, TV, theater and fashion shows and also making remixes for well known bands from Romania, Alin Dimitriu started paying attention to the club music scene being attracted by genres like minimal-house, minimal-techno and tech-house. In 2007, he founded 3 Liquid Hz Records along with his colleagues from “Contact” releasing the first EP of 3 Liquid Hz (formerly known as “Contact”) named “00:00”. Due to the success of “00:00”, Alin Dimitriu creates his electronic dance music scene alias, “Ricky Ambilotti” and makes two success remixes for “White Lines” by 3 Liquid Hz and, later, a remix for “The Lost Drip” by Alexandra Marinescu. In 2009, Ricky Ambilotti finally launches his first release, “Construkt”, release that quickly reaches high positions in prestigious club music charts and also is present in many known Dj’s playlists. After just one week from release, the track made it's way to Beatport's charts and finally stationed on #1 for two weeks and six weeks in the Top 10. In the summer of 2009, "Construkt" was heavily played at festivals and in clubs all over the world by hundreds of Dj's , being also included in Richie Hawtin & Dubfire BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. In 2010, "Construkt" was designated by Beatport one of the best 10 minimal-techno tracks of 2009. Although the success of his first original track quickly attracted the attention of many producers, promoters, booking agencies and labels, filling the mailbox with numerous requests for remixes, track releases and bookings, Ricky wasn't ready to dedicate his time exclusively to the electronic music scene and carefully chose his future projects. The majority of his releases (originals and remixes) have gone up in important charts and have been supported and repeatedly played by: Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Chocolate Puma, John Acquaviva, Mark Knight, Chris Lake, Claude Von Stroke, Paco Osuna and many more. Since 2012 the attention was focused mainly on sound design working for important companies like Loopmasters, Beatport, Irrupt and Splice Sounds. In 2015, Ricky wins 1st place in the "Dapayk Solo - Transformation" remix contest organised by Mo's Ferry Productions and Roland, this beeing followed by a vinyl release of the remix on Mo's Ferry and also becoming the Roland AIRA line representative in Romania.
