Australian Italian Alt. Rock / Grunge band active from the mid to the late 1990s. Stoneface are : Frank Gugliotta - vocals, bass Francis Fragomeni - guitars, vocals Vito De Francesco - keys, vocals Vince Ciarello - drums, percussion While this could be described as slightly derivative - though many of the Seattle grunge bands were - for an Aussie band from Perth this is a really good record and I think this is criminally underrated. A must-listen for all grunge fans and fans of the 90s aus music scene. Really impressive album from this WA band. Theres a bit of a story behind this album, which I'm going to tell you. My friend once had a book, full of songs he had learnt how to play and the tabs and chords for them were written in them. There was also a bunch of scribblings in there, including one saying STONEFACE with the members of the band written underneath it. Years ago I borrowed this book off him and wrote in some lyrics and some other crazy random stuff. I used to look at this book nearly everyday but never really payed attention to the STONEFACE artwork. Then going down to my local record store I came across the CD for $3.95 and thought where have I heard that name before. So I decided to pick it up being cheap and all. Brought it back home and looked in the album artwork and saw they were from WA, then I saw the band listing and recognized the name Frank Gugliotta. Which led me to Tom Gugliotta (the NBA basketballer), which led me to this book. So this book which is like the Shrine of Some weird shit from crazy arse lyrics to random theories about space and time, led me to the band here known as Stoneface. What a fantastic band they are, If they had been in Seattle, WA instead of Perth, WA. I think they would have been as big as Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. I also bought Alice in Chains - Alice in Chains around the same time as this and I have to say this is a far better album than that is, it has a similar sound but it doesn't depress you like Alice in Chains seem to do. Yes the Vocalist does say yeah alot but thats my only complaint. There is some really good songs on here, My favourite being 'listen'. All I can say is, you RYMers should check 'Deep Fried' out.
