Stretch

Stretch aka Thami “Camouflaged Chameleon” Tshabalala was born 24/10/1981 in Diepkloof Soweto. The Face and Representive of Session One started playing 2003 and has never looked back. When asked about what inspired him to venture into music he states that “the love for the music drove me towards the light”. This guiding light has seen him play at different venues across all spectrums from corporate events to parties in the deepest darkest parts of Soweto. His love affair with music started with Hip Hop and his travels opened him up to different new sounds including house. In his true element, Strech is an entertainer, so he is adaptable to any audience. When asked on how he is keeps grounded he says that: “it’s all due to the music I play, it brings me closer to God and through that develops me to be a better person”. He further says that: “His love for the music also helped him to appreciate the arts more”. For him, it not about status of the title “DJ”, it’s about love.
