Bleep43 Recordings

In 2010, Bleep43 is a byword for quality underground electronic music. Their London club night at Corsica Studios has become a central part of the capital’s house and techno scene over the last eight years. The list of live bookings includes some of the most respected and unique electronic producers out there – Scorn, Pole, Legowelt to name a few – but also exceptional lesser known artists, like $tinkworx, Newworldaquarium and Datasette. They have now begun to draw from this growing pool of talent for their new record label, Bleep43 Recordings. The label’s first release is a 12” EP featuring tracks from the enigmatic Gerard Hanson under his electro moniker E.R.P, Plant43 (Ai) and two unreleased artists who have been regular performers at Bleep43: Orphan and Jo Johnson. To celebrate the release, Bleep43 have invited Gerard Hanson and Plant43 to play live at their next party on 1st October alongside Detroit’s Urban Tribe, Legowelt, DJ Overdose, Matt Whitehead and more. E.R.P. - El Camino A native of Dallas, Gerard Hanson’s work under his Convextion and E.R.P aliases has consistently stood apart, coloured by a melodic melancholy that respectfully draws from the influence of Detroit techno. Early Convextion singles, such as “Miranda” from the mid-90s, were snapped up by Juan Atkins and Derrick May who played them repeatedly and still play his releases today. Many of Hanson’s releases are acknowledged classics. After the activity of the mid-90s, the elusive Hanson went into hibernation until 2006 when Bleep43 coaxed him over from Texas for a now legendary live show at one of their parties.
