Founded by Curtis Jones (Cajmere/Green Velvet), it championed second-generation Windy City producers with a DIY ethos and fierce independence. The label's identity: raw, underground Chicago house spanning dusty techno to soulful grooves--a sound carved from cheap drum machines that launched instant classics. Cajual gathered legends like Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, and Glenn Underground, proving that artist empowerment and uncompromising sound could coexist.
